چکیده

In this paper, we study disassembly sequencing flexibility that means the possibility of interchanging the order in which the required disassembly operations are performed. A mathematical model to design joint cellular disassembly systems is proposed, in which the trade-off of throughput time performances between the case of considering and the case of not considering disassembly sequencing flexibility be considered, starting from a pure belt conveyor line. Using this model we can obtain following insights when the exist disassembly conveyor line had been converted to other manufacturing system like cell production: (1) how many cells should be formatted; (2) how many workers should be assigned in each cell; (3) and how many workers should be rested in shortened conveyor line. To illustrate the proposed model, numerical simulation experiments based on the data collected from the previous documents are used to estimate the marginal impact each factor change had on the estimated performance improvement.

A Framework for the Flexible Grouping of Products for Disassembly

The increased scrutiny of a product’s effects on the environment has led industry to embrace Environment Conscious Design and Manufacture (ECDM) practices. Disassembly of a product at the end of its useful life is an integral part of the ECDM paradigm. Disassembly facilitates the end-of-product life options such as recycling, remanufacture, reuse and safe disposal. As industries take active ste...

Selective disassembly for virtual prototyping as applied to de-manufacturing

Selective disassembly involves separating a selected set of components from an assembly. Applications for selective disassembly include de-manufacturing (maintenance and recycling), and assembling. This paper presents a new methodology for performing design for selective disassembly analysis on the CAD model of an assembly. The methodology involves the following three steps: (i) identifying the...

A Genetic Algorithm Approach to End-of-life Disassembly Sequencing for Robotic Disassembly

End-of-life (EOL) processing options include reuse, remanufacturing, recycling and proper disposal. In almost all cases, a certain level of disassembly may be required due to possible changes in the original product structure. Thus, finding an optimal or near optimal disassembly sequence is crucial to increasing the efficiency of the process. Disassembly operations are labor intensive, can be c...

Late Disassembly of Femoral Head and Neck of A Modular Primary Total Hip Arthroplasty

INTRODUCTION Modular total hip arthroplasty system are now widely used, as these components increase the flexibility during primary and revision total hip arthoplasty. But this modularity itself associated with some risk of intraoperative and postoperative complications. CASE REPORT We report a case of late disassembly of a primary total arthroplasty in a 42 years old patient five years after...

An Online Genetic Algorithm for Automated Disassembly Sequence Generation

In this study, we propose an intelligent automated disassembly cell for online (real time) selective disassembly. The cell is composed of an industrial robotic manipulator, a camera, range-sensing and component segmentation visual algorithms. The cell prototype allows for robotic sensory-driven disassembly under uncertainty. An online genetic algorithm model for selective disassembly is also pr...
